On January 8, the Jiangsu Graduate Academic Innovation Forum on New Chemical Materials was successfully held at the Lecture Hall on the fifth floor ofthe Library ofJiangnan University Library. The forum was hosted by the Jiangsu Provincial Steering Committee for Graduate Education in Engineering Category III and co-organized by the School of Chemical and Material Engineering, Jiangnan University; the Key Laboratory of Synthetic and Biological Colloids, Ministry of Education; and the Graduate School of Jiangnan University. The forum attracted extensive attention and active participation from doctoral and master's students across more than 20 universities, including Nanjing University, Southeast University, Tongji University, Nanjing Tech University, Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Nanjing Agricultural University, Soochow University, Yangzhou University, and Jiangsu University. Over 150 papers were submitted. Following preliminary review by an expert panel, 48 students delivered oral presentations, and nearly 60 students presented posterpresentations. The forumprovided as a platform for academic exchange on the latest research achievements and development trends in the field of new chemical materials.

The opening ceremony was chaired by Professor Piming Ma, Associate Dean of the School of Chemical and Material Engineering at Jiangnan University. Professor Guocheng Du, Vice President of Jiangnan University, and Professor Mindong Chen, Deputy Director of the Jiangsu Provincial Steering Committee for Graduate Education in Engineering Category III, delivered opening remarks. Both extended a warm welcome to the scholars and students from various universities and expressed their hope that the forum would serve as an opportunity to further strengthen interdisciplinary and cross-institutional platforms for graduate student exchange, foster collaborative research on major scientific and technological challenges in the field of new chemical materials, and advance interdisciplinary research and achieve new breakthroughs. Subsequently, Professor Weifu Dong, Dean of the School of Chemical and Material Engineering at Jiangnan University, provided a detailed introduction to the university's discipline development, faculty, recent research achievements, and talent cultivation.

Following the opening ceremony, the forum featured invited keynote presentations by Professor Yumeng You from Southeast University, Professor Zhenhui Kang from Soochow University, and Professor Jianzhong Jiang from Jiangnan University, who delivered high-level academic reports titled "Molecular Ferroelectric Materials with Perovskite Structure," "Carbon Dots Promise New Photoelectrocatalysts," and "Self-Assembly of Surfactants and Nanoparticles at Fluid Interfaces," respectively. These presentations broadened the academic horizons of the participating graduate students. That afternoon, graduate student representatives from various universities delivered online presentations in parallel sessions on topics including new technologies in chemistry and chemical engineering, polymer materials, and functional materials. The presentations were detailed and cutting-edge, reflecting the innovative thinking of the students in the field of new chemical materials.

Following the parallel sessions, Professor Piming Ma, Associate Dean of the School of Chemical and Material Engineering at Jiangnan University, presided over the closing ceremony. Professor Weiping Tian, Deputy Party Secretary of the School of Chemical and Material Engineering, announced the award recipients. Professor Qingwei Pan, Party Secretary of the School of Chemical and Material Engineering, delivered the closing address. In his remarks, Professor Pan once again expressed sincere gratitude to all participants and extended warm congratulations to the award-winning graduate students. The forum provided a valuable platform for graduate students to share the latest research advances in new chemical materials and exchange academic ideas, further inspiring their academic enthusiasm and promoting academic innovation. Moving forward, the School of Chemical and Material Engineering will continue to organize high-level academic conferences, strengthen exchanges and collaboration with peer institutions in the field of new chemical materials, and jointly promote the development and advancement of related disciplines.
