The 11th International Symposium on Green Innovation Polymers (GRIP2025) Successfully Held

November 15-16, 2025, the 11th International Symposium on Green Innovation Polymers (GRIP2025), hosted by the School of Chemical and Material Engineering at Jiangnan University, was successfully held in the Zhixing Building on the Dongjiu Campus of Jiangnan University. More than 40 experts, scholars, and master's and doctoral students from over ten universities and enterprises attended the symposium, including representatives from the University of Tokyo, Osaka University, Hokkaido University, Shinshu University (Japan), Chulalongkorn University (Thailand), the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Zhejiang University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, University of Science and Technology of China, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), Southeast University, Donghua University, Jiangnan University, the Institute of Biological and Medical Engineering (Guangdong Academy of Sciences), Lintec (Japan), and Kunshan Xinjiacheng Electronic Materials Co., Ltd. Participants engaged in academic exchanges on the latest research achievements and development trends in the field of green polymers.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Tatsuo Kaneko, Chair of the International Symposium. Professor Zhiguo Gu, Associate Dean of the School of Chemical and Material Engineering at Jiangnan University, attended and delivered a speech. Professor Gu extended a warm welcome to all experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs, provided a detailed overview of the recent developments at Jiangnan University and its School of Chemical and Material Engineering, and expressed gratitude for their contributions and support to the university's growth.

The symposium featured 20 keynote presentations and 14 student talks. The sessions were co-chaired by Associate Researcher Mohammad Ali Asif from Jiangnan University, Professor Ryo Yoshida from the University of Tokyo, Professor Suwabunchirachanchai from Chulalongkorn University, Professor Tatsuo Kaneko from Jiangnan University, Professor Yoshinori Takashima from Osaka University, Professor Daigo Miyajima from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), Professor Makoto Ogawa from Shinshu University, Professor Dongjian Shi from Jiangnan University, Professor Jianping Gong from Hokkaido University, Professor Hiroshi Uyama from Osaka University, Professor Shoko Saba from Lintec (Japan), and Lecturer Jinfeng Zeng from Donghua University. Academic reports were delivered by Professor Ryo Yoshida, Professor Suwabunchirachanchai, Professor Makoto Ogawa, Professor Daigo Miyajima, Professor Yoshinori Takashima, Associate Researcher Ye Zhu from Jiangnan University, Professor Ziliang Wu from Zhejiang University, Professor Xueyu Li from the University of Science and Technology of China, Associate Researcher Botao Gao from the Institute of Biological and Medical Engineering (Guangdong Academy of Sciences), Associate Professor Mengna Li from Jiangnan University, Professor Eduardo Ruiz-Hitzky from the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Professor Jianping Gong, Professor Hiroshi Uyama, Professor Sho Kosaba, Professor Dongjian Shi, Dr. Yuanyuan Ding from Jiangnan University, Lecturer Jinfeng Zeng, Professor Akihide Sugawara from Osaka University, Professor Yuping Wu from Southeast University, and Professor Michiya Matsusaki from Osaka University. They shared the latest academic and technological achievements in their respective research fields and engaged in in-depth discussions on cutting-edge topics and industrial applications of green innovation polymers both domestically and internationally. Additionally, 14 students from the University of Tokyo, Osaka University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), and Jiangnan University delivered oral presentations, receiving reviews and suggestions from internationally renowned scholars, which helped enhance the innovation and completeness of their research.

Finally, Qingwei Pan, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the School of Chemical and Material Engineering at Jiangnan University, presented awards to the students and delivered concluding remarks. He expressed gratitude to the experts and scholars for their insightful presentations, commended the symposium's fruitful outcomes, and encouraged the students who presented their work. The international symposium provided a platform for exchange and collaboration among experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs in the field of green innovation polymers, facilitating discussions on academic ideas, sharing of research achievements, and exploration of the application prospects and development of green materials. The participating faculty and students greatly benefited from the event, which was marked by a vibrant and academically enriching atmosphere, ensuring the symposium's success.
